Throwback Thursday: NJT Freight on Moodna Viaduct
Throwback Thursday for April 24, 2014
*******************************
A New Jersey Transit ballast extra heads east over Moodna Viaduct through the Town of Cornwall, New York with NJT 4303 (built as NYC 3008) and 4300 (built as PC 3189), (both GP40-2's), leading 15 empty ballast cars that were unloaded on the Southern Tier/Port Jervis line west of Campbell Hall on April 2, 2012
The 4300 is no stranger to the Tier, having run on TV-98 back in 1976. The 4303 also is familiar to Orange County, having run on TV-16 on the Riverline back in 1977.
