The NEW Pan Am Railways along The Naugatuck River
Throwback Thursday for May 1, 2014
******************************
In March 2006, Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways, and at the time ran a weekly train down the Waterbury Branch of Metro-North Railroad to Beacon Falls.
Train PL-1 (Plainville, CT based) is on The Metro-North Railroad Waterbury Branch en route to Peter Paul in Beacon Falls with three tank cars for the candy maker. This once was a weekly move, either on a Wednesday, or a Friday. Unfortunately, Peter Paul no longer is a customer at Beacon Falls.
Now, the only time a freight train goes south of Waterbury is the rare move to Kerite in Seymour, just a few times a year.
