White River Junction, Vermont is a place that I have visited since I was a young child, a second home if you will.


This caboose was inside of the "Holidome" of the Holiday Inn for many years. When Holiday Inn sadly decided that they did not want the hotel anymore, it was sold to Ramada, and rapidly began to go from a 4 star hotel to a 1 star.


The hotel was knocked down and I was told the reason was that the roof had collapsed. Poor maintenance will cause that. It's just sad to see what was once a beautiful hotel filled with many memories, now just a grassy parking lot.


I am very glad that I photographed the caboose under Ramada control (Notice the TACKY No Smoking sign) shortly before the complete demise of the hotel. I never stayed at the Ramada. It was that poorly managed and maintained.


The only remnant to remind anyone that the Holiday Inn was there is the road: Holiday Drive.
