The USS Slater is a World War II Destroyer Escort, the last afloat in America.

It is a museum based in Albany, New York since arriving from the Intrepid Museum on October 27, 1997, where it had originally called home since August 27, 1993.

On Sunday, April 6, 2014, the USS Slater headed from Albany to Staten Island for hull work. Over $1 million dollars has been donated towards the project. The ship will return back to Albany in June to reopen for the normal museum schedule.

One of the tugboats towing was Margot, built in 1958, and based in Troy.
