GP35R pulling M8's
On the morning of Saturday, November 10 at 3am, CSX train Q701-09 had 6 Kawasaki built M8's for delivery to Metro-North Railroad at Croton-On-Hudson, New York.
Q701-09 has cut away, and pulled south of CP 35, allowing Metro-North Railroad HTS-3 (Harmon Traveling Switcher 3rd Shift) to tie on with GP35R 102, and bring the brand new cars into Harmon Yard.
The cars being delivered came from Nebraska are with KRMX reporting marks, and are 9262, 9263, 9265, 9264, 9266, and 9267. They were interchanged to CSX in Chicago from The Union Pacific. They began their journey on CSX on November 1 on Q380-01 enroute to Selkirk.
Metro-North GP35R 102 started life in May of 1964 as PRR 2271 , and held onto that number through Penn Central and Conrail. Metro-North purchased these GP35R's (101-106) from Conrail in 1993 after being
rebuilt in Altoona, PA.
