The Delaware River: Rafting, canoes, kayaks...and carnival rides too!

The Delaware River: Rafting, canoes, kayaks...and carnival rides too!

The James E. Strates Carnival Train heads west across Mill Rift Bridge on the former ERIE from Orange County, New York into Pike County, Pennsylvania after just completing the Orange County Fair along the former New York, Ontario & Western Railway (NS) in Middletown.

The train traveled as NS "056" from Middletown to Sparrowbush, and then became NYSW train BH-2.

NS 6929 (SD60E), NS 6752 (SD60I) are pulling 39 flatcars with a fresh New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway crew aboard while the train travels over the Central New York Railroad to Binghamton.

The Delaware River is alive with vacationers enjoying rafting, canoeing and kayaking right below Hawk's Nest, while cars maneuver the curves on Route 97, where car commercials have been filmed.

Cherry Island, in Orange County, is reminiscent of the Charlie Brown movie "Race for your life".
