The New York Central had three choices for a paint scheme on its locomotives: Black, Grey, and Century Green.

Century Green didn't make the cut for locomotives, but it was instead applied handsomely to boxcars.

Only 3 locomotives wore this paint: E8A 4083, B unit E7 4107 (scrapped), E8A 4053 (scrapped).

4083 was built in August of 1953, and later became Penn Central 4326, and then New Jersey Transit 4326.
It was rebuilt by Conrail in August of 1981.

The 1967 AMC Marlin is one of only 2,545 built. The next year, 1968, the Penn Central merger would take place.

URHS painted this locomotive in quick order of 3 days. Great job gentlemen!

Disclaimer: It is unknown how long after September 1961 that 4083 stayed painted in Century Green, therefore I can not say with absolute certainty that this paint survived until 1967, the year of the 1967 Marlin. Reportedly since this was a test scheme, word is that it was repainted into NYC Grey after this scheme was turned down.
