Blooming Grove

NYSW SU-99 heads west through the Town of Blooming Grove approaching Route 94 with 3804, 3810, 3806, and 36 cars on Monday, June 18, 2013 at 1950hrs in the very last rays of sunshine for the day while the old water tower for Camp LaGuardia, which closed in 2006, looms in the background.

Once the train passed, the sun went down behind the mountain.

The train had passed Baird's Farm in Warwick at 1913hrs in a cloudy downpour, set out a Mid State Lumber car for The MNJ at Warwick Yard, and when the train reached the Town of Chester border, the sun broke through the clouds for 20 useful minutes.

Determination, patience, and pure luck came into play for this shot, which is the last sunlit photo that one can get of SU-99, unless a train leaves Ridgefield Park earlier than 1600, and makes no stops along the way enroute.
