The Bucolic Walden Branch

The Bucolic Walden Branch

The Middletown & New Jersey local CH-1 heads west across Ward Street in Montgomery, New York passing Chambers Tractor Sales at 12:04 hrs on Thursday, January 10, 2012.

The MNJ Walden Secondary was once part of The New York Central owned Wallkill Valley Railroad that connected Kingston with The Erie Montgomery Branch here. In 1977, Conrail discovered that the piers of The Rosendale Trestle had shifted, and declined to invest in the route, thus severing the route to Walden.

Less than a half mile from this bucolic Orange County view, is where Orange County Choppers had its' Factory Street shop.
