Croton River Meet

Croton River Meet

At 0225 hrs. Friday morning, April 5, 2013, CSX train Q701-04 experienced a mechanical failure at this exact location, forcing the train to return to Croton West Yard, 3 miles north of here, aligning the stars for a great opportunity.

B749-05 had missed their 0900 window, and as it turned out, that worked to a great benefit as the sun was fighting a few stubborn clouds on what was forecast to be an overcast day originally.

At 1007 hrs , B749-05 crossed The Croton River at Ossining, New York, while passing a northbound Metro-North Railroad
train led by recently retrofitted New Haven painted P32AC-DM Genesis 230.

B749 has engines 2724, 2807, 8831, 8836, 2804
4 mty cars for Selkirk, then 41 mty trash cars.
