Proudly serving the Catskills!

Proudly serving the Catskills!

The Catskill Mountain Railroad is heading eastbound into Kingston passing the Trailways of New York Kingston garage.

This view is a unique opportunity brought on by the Thomas event taking place which made it necessary for ALCo 401 to push Thomas towards Route 209 in the Town of Ulster. Normally 401 leads west, with caboose 675 used to shove back east.

Perhaps someday, passengers can board a train in Kingston, and once again reach Arkville; but until then, New York Trailways is the only public transportation.

On a side note, the "Day Out With Thomas" event has been a huge success, and has enlightened Ulster County residents to the importance of the Catskill Mountain Railroad.
