Route 209: Mission Accomplished!

A major obstacle on the Catskill Mountain Railroad has been overcome: Being able to cross Route 209 SAFELY.

Flashers activated manually have been recently installed at US Route 209, and allows flagmen to alert traffic on the 55mph road to slow down, and come to a controlled stop.

The Catskill Mountain Railroad now continues west beyond this location to Milepost K6.29 , also crossing Hurley Mountain Road, offering an extended ride with 3 ex LIRR MP72 coaches.
