Guilford on Starrucca Viaduct
6 years ago, equipment destined for the Stourbridge LINE for use by Central Penn. Rail Corp. crossed Starrucca Viaduct en route to Honesdale, Pennsylvania via Lackawaxen.
Behold a sight that only myself and Josh S. Weis captured on a beautiful Saturday morning: Former Guilford GP7 22 crossing the mighty Starrucca Viaduct opened in 1848 in Lanesboro, Pennsylvania.
The train had originated in Binghamton earlier on the morning of June 7, 2008, with a NYSW crew and NYGL/ERIE 833 E8 pulling, with the following equipment for Lackawaxen:
AFRX 2015 (Passenger Car for Stourbridge RR)
AFRX 291 (Passenger Car for Stourbridge RR)
AFRX 22 (GP 7 for Stourbridge RR)
The equipment carried AFRX reporting marks for AF Railway Industries Inc. The locomotive, former East Penn Scenic Railway (Former Guilford 22, Former Maine Central 561) and former East Penn Scenic Railway coaches 291, and 2015 (LIRR).
Most importantly, a big thank you to the woman who allowed us to photograph from her private property. Always pays to ask permission. Well, sometimes.
