Strates on Moodna
NS train H90 with 9242, 9555, 9387 lead 39 flat cars of the Strates Carnival across Moodna Viaduct in the Town of Cornwall, New York on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1509hrs.
Strates Shows is having a rough 2014, as they lost their bid on their long standing client of 60 years, The New York State Fair at Syracuse. NY State decided to award a 10 year contract to Wade Shows, causing Strates to lose 10 years worth of major revenue.
Adding to this, word has come that CSX found some of Strates' train cars unacceptable, and they were not allowed to operate in service. The train normally operates with 52 cars.
The train was given an excellent time slot just after noon, and crossed HX Drawbridge at 12:07, Waldwick 12:45, and Ramapo at 13:07. At Central Valley, there was a meet with an eastbound X52 deadhead passenger train. The Strates Train encountered an U.D.E. (Undesired Emergency) approaching the signal at CP Central Valley, delaying the train by one hour , causing the train to have to await the next scheduled westbound train 75.
NS is 10 minutes behind train 75 in this photo.
