"Bright" Morning at Marlboro

"Bright" Morning at Marlboro

In 2014, seeing a YN2 Bright Future CSX locomotive leading a train is rare enough; but a matched set is a photographers dream in this era of YN3 Dark Future paint. A northbound Q161-05 Intermodal Train heads through Marlboro, New York along the Hudson River on a bright Saturday Morning after the Hot Air Balloons in Poughkeespie failed to launch due to wind.

The YN2 paint scheme was first created in 1990, and the Dark Future (YN3) scheme began to replace it in 2002. 14 years later, the paint scheme still exists, but is definitely outranked by YN3 painted locomotives.

CSX 7756 (C40-8W) , CSX 105 (AC44CW) and 43 "cars"
Of note, the 105 was involved in a Virginia wreck in 2011, and was not repainted into YN3.
