The Mighty New York Central

Metro-North Railroad's J.W. Swanberg approached Howard Pincus from the RMNE in July of 1999 about how to paint the 2012 and 2013 into New York Central paint for the 150th Anniversary of the Hudson River Railroad. On October 2, 1999, "The Historic River Towns Express" excursion ran along the Hudson Line invoking memories of the great New York Central.

Sadly, this former New Haven FL9 in NYC paint was left to rot in the sun for many years, and its current fate is not clear, but this is the first time the old girl has seen any kind of shop attention in probably a decade or more.
