As part of Connecticut's 11th Annual Open House Day, The Naugatuck Railroad operated immaculately restored 1951 New Haven Budd RDC 41 (Rail Diesel Car) , running south from Thomaston to the newly constructed "Fascia's Station" in Waterbury, bringing tourists to Fascia's Chocolates for a tour of the factory, and to purchase delicious chocolates and Gelato. It was an excellent experience for all, and all 3 excursions were sold out.

This was an excellent example of a joint cooperative effort that should be an example to other tourist railroads and their local businesses.
