The Carlton Bridge

The Carlton Bridge

The Carlton Bridge connecting Bath and Woolwich, Maine over The Kennebec River, built in 1927, carried automobile and rail traffic, until 2000, when the parallel Sagadahoc bridge opened to carry Route 1.

The westbound Maine Eastern passenger train is making its' Bath station stop. In light of this fact, multiple photos can be had at Bath, and a photographer can reposition himself with ease.

Sadly, Maine Eastern's passenger trains will come to an end in October 2015, and freight trains operated by Maine Eastern will cease to exist in 2016, as Maine DOT has given the new contract to Central Maine & Quebec Railway.
