Newburgh Q409 Derailment

CSX Q409 on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at approximately 1505hrs, hit a "Telescopic boom whip" that was stuck on the private crossing for Steelways.

Engine 5281 derailed onto River Road at the Newburgh/New Windsor border.

Engines 4082, 6157 and 14 cars derailed as a result, and 2 CSX MOW workers at the site were reported injured.

Cleanup was completed within 48 hours, and trains were back on the line.
