Amtrak at Yankee Stadium

Amtrak at Yankee Stadium

For the first time since April 6, 1991, Amtrak reinstated service on July 10 to Grand Central Terminal due to the trackwork "renewal period" at Penn Station. A total of 3 inbound (230/236/242), and 3 outbound trains (233/235/239) operate with 2 Metro-North pilot crews between Croton-Harmon and Grand Central Terminal.

Seen here, Train 242 is southbound at Yankee Stadium.

The detoured trains are planned to last only until Friday, Sept 1. This allows for unique photo opportunities between Spuyten Duyvil and Grand Central, as Amtrak only comes to GCT during situations such as the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge being hit.
